Individualization of hypertension treatment: an expert review

چکیده

Management of hypertension is complex in patients with comorbid conditions and those who are at high cardiovascular risk. Multiple guidelines recommend different treatment goals therapeutic approaches for hypertension. In this review, we take an individualized management approach comorbidities mainly diabetes chronic kidney disease (CKD), coronary artery disease, young the elderly. Current evidence indicates a blood pressure goal <130/80 mmHg most except elderly aged >75 years whom systolic 130-139 diastolic 70-80 may be considered. For CKD, renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) inhibitors remain initial choice agents whereas or elderly, any class including RAAS inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, thiazide diuretics preferred. Special consideration necessary concerning possible side effects each drug class. presence additional risk factors, to tailor effective therapy as per patient needs. Thus, treating hypertension, multipronged but optimize control clinical outcomes real-world setting.
